Four years ago we purchased land near Quillabamba, Peru, located on an alternative route to Machu Picchu. It is a 30 hectare site located at 1500 m above sea level with a tropical climate. There is cultivation of coffee, cacao, mangos, and avocado, with production of honey from our own bees. Here, we have established agro-alimentation projects based on a cooperative model to work with local people, as well as providing a conducive and welcoming setting for meetings and activities aimed at reconnecting with mother nature.
As a way of promoting cultural cooperation and ecological co-development, our community is open to proposals from indigenous communities and other non-profit organizations about how to utilize this land. It is a project to develop a new system of education guided by nature in our daily lives and a center for the development of investigations and formation based on a traditional vision of the natural sciences of life in order to participate in awakening consciousness. Having been developed from the ground up, the facilities are always expanding, but currently include: simple dormitory accommodations, a basic kitchen, drinking water, electricity, and dry toilets, with plenty of space for camping.
